The York Literature Festival showcases some of the finest literature, spoken word and poetry in the UK. The Festival will be held from 16th – 30th March 2017 and will feature the delights of Michael Palin, Sue Perkins, Mark Gatiss and many more.
Mark Gatiss first rose to notable fame as one of the writers and performers of The League of Gentlemen. The black comedy television series won several awards including two BAFTA Award (2000 and 2001) and two British Comedy Awards (1999 and 2000). Mark Gatiss in Conversation will be held on 18 March from 3.00pm – 5.30pm at the York Grand Opera House. Tickets are £15 plus transaction fee from Grand Opera House.
Michael Palin in conversation with Robert Ross on Saturday 18 March (19h00 – 21h30) at the York Grand Opera House. As one of the founders of Monty Python, the evening promises to be a fantastic opportunity to witness one of Brittan’s comedy legends as his best.
Sue Perkins is best known as an English comedian, broadcaster, actress and writer. Apart from hosting The Great British Bake Off, she has appeared in shows such as ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘Just a Minute’, ‘QI’ and ‘The News Quiz’. The wonderful Sue Perkins will be hosting an evening at the York Theatre Royal on Wednesday 22 March. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £23.50 + £1.50 transaction fee from York Theatre Royal.
